Fluctuations in blood pressure may age brain faster, says study

A study published in Neurology reveals that blood pressure fluctuations may accelerate brain aging in older adults, particularly impacting Black individuals. Researchers tracked blood pressure and cognitive skills in over 4,700 participants over 65 for a decade. Black participants with the highest blood pressure variability showed significantly lower cognitive test scores, equivalent to nearly three years of cognitive aging.
