Mumbai’s air quality drops, 11 of 26 stations in ‘poor’ zone

A drop in temperatures and reduced wind speed caused a decline in Mumbai’s air quality index (AQI) on Monday. Experts have linked this to accumulating smoke and dust, creating smog. The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board plans to close polluting industries and bring stringent measures, including covering ready-mix concrete plants and increasing water sprinkling on roads, to curb air pollution.
