Coimbatore police arrest IMK functionary after threat to ‘cut tongue’ of Tamil magazine ‘Nakkheeran’ editor

Coimbatore police arrested Omkar Balaji, son of IMK founder Arjun Sampath, for threatening to cut off the tongue of journalist R Gopal. Balaji made the threat during a protest against Gopal’s reporting on the Isha Yoga Centre. Although Balaji filed for anticipatory bail and was ordered to apologize, he was arrested following a complaint by a DMK member.
