Two women, Sobha and Aarti, allegedly set five puppies on fire in Meerut’s Sant Nagar Colony because their barking disturbed their sleep. The three-day-old puppies were doused in petrol and burned alive. Although the incident occurred on Tuesday, an FIR was lodged against the women on Friday under BNS section 325 following protests by animal activists. The accused are yet to be arrested.
