Broadband subscribers grew, wireless declined in August

India’s telecom sector showed mixed trends in August, with broadband subscriptions climbing by 0.32% to 949.21 million, driven by increased demand. However, wireless subscriptions fell by 0.49% to 1,163.83 million, with declines in both urban and rural regions. Mobile Number Portability requests also saw substantial growth, while wireline subscribers experienced a modest increase.
