The Madhya Pradesh high court has granted police protection to an interfaith couple, Ankita Thakur and Hasnain Ansari, whose lives were under threat after applying for marriage in Jabalpur. The court directed the police to ensure their safety until their marriage can proceed under the Special Marriage Act, 1954.
