Yann LeCun, chief AI scientist at Meta, believes fears about AI’s potential dangers are overstated. He argues that current AI models are not as intelligent as pets, let alone humans. While sharing some concerns with fellow AI experts Yoshua Bengio and Geoffrey Hinton, LeCun considers talk of imminent artificial general intelligence premature, stating such advancements could take decades.
