Thane police arrest 24-year-old woman for abandoning newborn in Kalwa

Kalwa Police arrested a 24-year-old woman for abandoning a seven-day-old newborn in Bhaskarnagar. The infant, found near a grocery store, was rushed to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital. Investigations revealed the child was her 19-year-old sister’s, abandoned due to fear of social stigma. A case has been registered under Sections 91 and 93 of the Indian Penal Code.
