President Droupadi Murmu will visit the Siachen base camp in Ladakh on Thursday to meet with troops stationed there. She becomes the third Indian president to visit this high-altitude battlefield, after A P J Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind. The Siachen glacier is renowned for its challenging conditions and strategic importance.
