Senior AAP leader Atishi was sworn in as the eighth chief minister of Delhi by lieutenant governor V K Saxena after Arvind Kejriwal’s resignation. This makes her the third woman to hold this position in Delhi and the 17th woman chief minister in India. Her tenure will be brief due to upcoming assembly elections in February.
