Bangladesh plans Sheikh Hasina’s extradition to put her on trial for ‘mass killings’

The interim government in Bangladesh, led by Muhammad Yunus, is intensifying efforts to extradite ex-PM Sheikh Hasina from India. Hasina fled after a mass uprising in August. The government plans to try her for alleged mass killings during student-led protests. An arrest warrant application will be filed with the International Crimes Tribunal. Bangladesh’s ICT began a probe against Hasina and nine other individuals on allegations of genocide and crimes against humanity.
