Residents and businesses in Bengaluru could face fines for potential mosquito breeding spots, following a new government notification classifying dengue as an epidemic under the Karnataka Epidemic Disease Act (2020). Fines range from Rs 200 to Rs 2,000. BBMP has already fined several premises, collecting Rs 9.2 lakh in July-August for violations.
