Will NASA’s Dart mission trigger a man-made meteor shower? Read to find out

NASA’s DART mission, which collided with asteroid moonlet Dimorphos in September 2022, has raised the possibility of a man-made meteor shower. The impact generated over two million pounds of debris, which could potentially create visible meteors as particles reach Earth and Mars in the next 10 to 30 years. Dubbed the “Dimorphids,” these meteors, if seen, would be unique due to their artificial origin and may be visible from the southern hemisphere near the Indus constellation.
