Indonesia’s Ternate Island devastated by flash floods; at least seven dead

In North Maluku province, Indonesia, heavy rains triggered floods, killing at least seven people and leaving some missing on Ternate island. Severe flooding hit Ternate city, with ongoing efforts to evacuate residents. The flash flood caused extensive damage and cut off the main road, isolating the area. In May, similar events in West Sumatra killed over 60 people.
