Shekhar Lal Goswami, a 12th generation priest of the Sri Sri Siddheswari Kali Mandir in Dhaka, has vowed to remain despite ongoing violence against minorities. Kidnapped twice by Pakistani troops in 1971 and a former Mukti Bahini fighter, Goswami returned after the war to serve as the temple’s priest. Presently, students guard the temple for safety.
