Paris Olympics: Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso suspended for Games village rule violation

Luana Alonso, a 20-year-old Paraguayan swimmer, was expelled from the Paris Olympics’ athlete village over allegations of creating an inappropriate atmosphere within Team Paraguay. Despite her retirement after failing to qualify for the 100-metres butterfly semi-finals, Alonso remained in Paris. The specifics of her behaviour were not disclosed. She has since posted about returning to the United States.
