3rd century AD mosaic discovered in submerged Italy villa off Southwestern coast

Archaeologists restored a submerged 3rd century AD mosaic in a villa on Italy’s southwestern coast. The Parco Archeologico Campi Flegrei led the effort to recover the mosaic, located in an ancient villa that sank due to volcanic activity. The project involved underwater and land restoration, using freshwater tanks to desalinate some of the pieces.
