Samajwadi Party’s Mata Prasad Pandey appointed as leader of opposition in UP assembly

The Samajwadi Party appointed Mata Prasad Pandey as the leader of opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly. The decision follows Akhilesh Yadav’s resignation as MLA after being elected to the Lok Sabha. Pandey, who represents Itwa and is a former speaker, was chosen at a meeting of SP MLAs.
